Tom Kufel

Tom is a Principal of Laminar Equity and manages day-to-day operations.
Professional Background
Tom began his professional career in the United States Army, completing the rigorous Special Forces Qualification Course and becoming a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. As a Special Forces Medic, Tom was forward deployed to Stuttgart, Germany, where through a series of training exercises and a deployment, he trained over 15 foreign militaries. Training included leadership development, combat medicine, small unit tactics, close quarter battle, combat marksmanship, operational planning, and numerous other topics.
Tom left active duty in the Fall of 2020, but remains active in the National Guard. In the Guard, Tom has spent almost two years training Special Forces Candidates for Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Tom plans to continue his service until retirement.
In the Fall of 2020, Tom joined Hanes Supply Inc. as the Wire Rope Fabrication Lead. While at Hanes Supply, Tom manufactured wire rope, chain, and synthetic rigging equipment. He was also heavily involved in shipping, receiving, distribution, and warehouse management.

Rob Kufel

Rob is a Principal of Laminar Equity and manages day-to-day operations.
Professional Background
Rob began his professional career as an investment banking analyst with Stifel Financial, a middle market investment, in the Company's New York and San Francisco offices. At Stifel, Rob worked on a combination of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, public equity offerings, and private capital raises as a member of the Electronics & Applied Technologies team.
Following his time at Stifel, Rob held various roles within several private equity firms focused on investing in lower middle market companies. During his tenure in these roles, Rob sourced and evaluated new investment opportunities while also supporting portfolio companies with strategic planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Most recently, Rob has been involved in the turnaround of a specialty manufacturing business as the Director of Strategic Finance.
